Q. What if I want help designing my swag?
A. That’s OK, we can provide some initial support designingyour merch. We have a catalogue of items that can be customised, and we can also arrange to have designs created. We either deduct any design costs from the initial sales or in some cases will ask for small amount to cover design cost upfront. * If you have strong ideas of what your audience will like, we can arrange to have them designed and made, or if you want to produce them yourself that’s fine too. 

*Depending on size of following and other criteria and we are completely transparent on costs

Q. Is Taptin merch ethical and sustainable?
A. We think you should choose ethical and sustainable goods and we actively promote their use. However, they are more expensive and many creators want the option to use non-sustainable goods. We will provide you with the option for you to choose, but strongly recommend you don’t use cheap and environmentally damaging products. You simply cannot sell a dress that retails for £4.99 and expect it to be sustainably and ethically produced.

Q. Can I sell my existing stock in my Taptin store?

A. Absolutely, Taptin handles the shipping of your products to your customers. Just send your goods to one of our many distribution centres and we’ll handle the rest. As for digital products like audio or video downloads we can handle that as well**. Taptin can also provide merch for you to sell at gigs at preferential rates.

**Music downloads will not count towards any charts

Q. What if I need help sourcing goods I want made just for me so I can build my brand?

 A. In many cases, our team can help you source your suppliers***

***We provide this service on a case-by-case basis as it doesn’t make sense for either you or Taptin to spend time sourcing goods if we don’t all think they can sell. 

Q. What type of items can I have made for me to sell in my store? 

A.Pretty much anything; from sunglasses to toys, to clothing, make up and gym kit. We highly recommend limited production lines and exclusive time limited offers to prevent holding stock.

Q. What is my cut of any items sold?

A. The amounts vary according to the price goods are sold but on average you will receive around 20% of the retail price after VAT is deducted. You will receive more if you buy the stock in advance*. We will provide more detail and standard tariffs if you are interested in joining Taptin.

* If you buy the stock you will receive a higher % as you have taken the risk on the items and deserve more reward. 

Q. Can I customize my shop and have my own URL? 

A. We plan to offer a Premium account for high volume users. With this account you can have your own vanity URL e.g. CoolCreator@Taptin.app and custom branding. There may be some extra costs to add these features. 

Q. Is there a minimum term? 

A. As we have so many upfront costs, unique offering and benefits we would like a minimum commitment of 12 months,  but understand this is new to you, so we are offering a 3 month trial, and if it works we can offer to extend then.**

Q. Can Taptin sell my merch to my overseas followers?

A. We proud to be able to handle global shipping including Europe, North and South America, and Asia from one of our many distribution centres

Q. What about packaging and delivery costs? Who pays them?

A.We pass packaging and delivery costs to your customer. We’d agree with you what those charges will be before any goods go live on Taptin. We do however reserve the right to charge for storage if your goods take up space in our centres for long periods without selling. 

Q. Can I customize my shop to make it look like my channels? 

A. Soon, but not quite yet, as we are in Beta.  The services we are offering in Beta mode are a slimmed down version of the full offer.

Q. Does Taptin pay me to sell my products, like a collab fee or buy out? 

 A.We are here to help build your brand and not someone else’s brand. We provide the system, platform, customer service, design, production and fulfilment services, as well as providing some additional marketing support. You receive payment for what you sell.*

Q. Does Taptin provide budget for any brand collaboration, brand promotion, including buy out? 

A.We expect brands to pay Creators to promote their products, and if you choose to promote and sell branded products (other than your own) we charge a fee to do so, as should you, but we aren’t an influencer marketing agency and don’t set the fees or budgets. We just provide you with offers from brands.

Q. What marketing support does Taptin provide? 

A.We support your product sales with digital marketing which we adjust to each creator, range and campaign. It’s in both our interests for you to sell more products.

Q. What social media channels will the brand and product will have to be promoted on?

A. You promote on your social channels and we’d add some more digital marketing on those channels, and also add some more digital marketing on other relevant social channels.
